Attune Brunch with my Dietitian Pals

As an Attune brand ambassador, I’ve been charged with spreading the good word about Attune foods, from the Erewhon cereals to Attune chocolate bars and New Morning graham crackers. They’re all products I eat and support as a dietitian, so I’m always more than happy to spread the food love to others. Over the weekend I had some of my favorite Boston dietitians over for a casual brunch at my place using a variety of Attune products.

On the menu:

Vegan pumpkin muffins using this recipe (without the chocolate chips)

Apple crisp using this recipe (doubled) and New Morning graham crackers

Yogurt parfaits with greek yogurt layered with honey and Uncle Sam Honey Almond, paired with a dark chocolate bar

Chewy Whole Grain Chocolate Chip Granola bars using Uncle Sam Original

Apples with carrot cashew dip from Jess

Coffee, cider, and OJ

Apple Crisp – I blame our terrible oven for the burning, but it just looked burnt – fortunately didn’t taste burnt!

I also sent everyone home with a baggie of Indian Spiced Cereal Snack using Uncle Sam Original (recipe will be on the Attune blog soon!)

brunch

We had a great time catching up, talking about food, nutrition, and yes, even non-nerdy nutrition things too. Everyone also got some Attune food coupons, a chocolate bar for the road, and an Attune t-shirt. I just love this shot of all of us – 7 brunette dietitians showing some Attune love. I feel so lucky that I not only love my career, but also love the phenomenal dietitians I’ve met and become friends with throughout my career, including these fabulous ladies:

P.S. Happy Halloween! What was your costume of the year? I admit I slacked and Funk and I went to a party re-using (for the 3rd time) our homemade ketchup and mustard costumes. Once I dressed as Julia Child – I guess I stick with the food theme!

Turbot Fish Tacos

Turbot Fish Tacos

I have a friend who is enamored with fish tacos. She literally seeks out the best fish taco restaurants wherever she travels, and had a fish taco bar at her wedding. I never really saw the great appeal. I mean I love fish. But that’s pretty much where my love affair with fish tacos ended.show me more

Whenever I bake, which is rarely, I always try to take shortcuts or tweak the recipe to make it vegan. It usually fails. But I do have one goof-proof method to make an easy boxed cake mix even easier and much healthier: canned pumpkin. If you add one 14 ounce can of pumpkin to oneshow me more

Tufts Health Plan 10k

Remember this? My favorite race EVER was finally here! And I was determined, once again, to participate even though my hip is still not up to snuff. My mom joined me for her second Tufts Health Plan 10k, and my 5th. We intended to (power) walk the course, which we did last year in ashow me more

Parsley Pesto

Parsley Pesto

Several weeks ago, my mom gave me a fresh bunch of parsley. And I let it sit in my fridge for another few weeks. It was beginning to lose its luster and wilt, but I knew I didn’t need to toss it. When foods start to turn bad in our kitchen, what do we do?show me more
