Tempeh Sloppy Joes

This is a brief post, but an important post, because I want to point you to the best Sloppy Joe recipe ever (here) and its made with tempeh! I looooove tempeh, but this is suddenly one of my favorite ways to enjoy it. In fact, after I snapped the photo I scraped this off of the bun and enjoyed it scooped onto my plate. No need for bread to get in the way of this meaty, peppery, satisfying meal.

Just a tip – the best way to crumble tempeh is to dice it into bite-sized pieces and then place it in a steam basket and steam for about 7-9 minutes until soft. Then fork-mash the tempeh until it is crumbly. This is my favorite way to prepare it when making tempeh tacos, which I may never make again because these Sloppy Joes are just too good.

    Thanks for posting this recipe, it’s already made and up on my blog now too! It was too good to postpone, the world needs to know 😀 One of the better vegan dishes I’ve made, although they’ve all been pretty delicious 😀 Swapped the tempeh for normal soy beans and it worked a treat!
