A fabulous fall: wine, walks, and pizza pointers
Despite my lack of posting, a lot has been going on! Here are a few of my latest food and fitness happenings:
- Funk and I won two tickets from Red White Boston on Twitter to the Pan Mass Challenge Ride, Wine, and Dine Tastes of the World event at the Boston Harbor Hotel. It was a swanky evening filled with foods (amazing foods) from a variety of different countries, and wines (oh, the wines) to match. We sure did wine and dine, and danced the night away along-side many Pan Mass Challenge riders and supporters. The Pan Mass Challenge 2-day bike ride is on my bucket list…I’m thinking Summer 2012 – who is with me?! We had a blast and were so lucky to win these tickets!
- I gave some of my best pizza pie pointers to the October 2010 issue of Fitness Magazine. What are your best pizza tips?
- My mom and I “raced” the Tufts Health Plan 10k – the largest women’s-only 10K in the nation. This is my all time favorite race, and every year I set a new PR. When I had hip surgery exactly 10 months ago, I kept this 10k in the back of my mind, assuming I’d be back in running-shape and whizzing through the finish of the 2010 Tufts 10k. I even had a picture of the 10k on my vision board to keep me motivated and inspired. Well, my body is not, in fact, in running shape (yet!) but I couldn’t miss out on my favorite race of the year, so my mom and I signed up to walk together. It was not easy to walk a race I’ve run in the past, and watch thousands of runners blow by me, but it was a beautiful day and my mom’s first 10k! Next year I will be running all 6.2 miles.
I hope you’re having a fabulous fall as well. Have you run any races? Cooked up any new masterpieces? Do tell!
